Tragaki is a picturesque mountainous village which lies in a green valley 11 km north of Zakynthos Town. The village offers and enchanting landscape covered with olive groves and vineyards. Tragaki offers spectacular views to the Ionian Sea. The surrounding area offers important monuments and monasteries built on the hills with magnificent views to the countryside. The main attraction of Tragaki is the monastery of Spilia that stands on top of the hill. According to the local tradition, the icon of the Virgin was found at a small cave near the church. In close distance, there are many lovely beaches and popular resorts.
